The <strong>Earthwalker<\/strong> was designed, sourced and built by Earthsound\u2019s Cian Hogan, with input and help from all staff.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_760\" style=\"width: 970px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-760\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-760\" src=\"http:\/\/www.earthsound.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/20614208_10155766698416323_838287805_n-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-760\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cian constructing the Earthwalker<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Our regular multi-sensor magnetometer array uses a wheeled cart \u2013 however, due to increasing demand to undertake fieldwork in remote and challenging terrain, a more suitable and sturdy option was required. From uplands and rocky outcrops to dunefields and the inter-tidal zone, Earthsound\u2019s new <strong>Earthwalker<\/strong> array allows us to carry out high-resolution GPS-acquired magnetometry no matter what the terrain.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>Earthwalker<\/strong> had its maiden survey at Knocknashee Hillfort, as part of the 2017 season of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.earthsound.ie\/index.php\/2017\/07\/31\/knocknashee-archaeology-project\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Knocknashee Archaeology Project<\/a> \u2013 and it was a great success!
