Kildare.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Year:<\/strong>\u00a02013, 2014, 2015, 2016<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Client:<\/strong> Athy Heritage Centre-Museum, funded by the <a href=\"http:\/\/irishwalledtownsnetwork.ie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Irish Walled Towns Network<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.heritagecouncil.ie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Heritage Council<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Aim:<\/strong>\u00a0We&#8217;ve been carrying out a variety of projects in Athy since 2013. We&#8217;ve surveyed the Town Walls and Black Castle Tower using <a href=\"http:\/\/www.earthsound.ie\/index.php\/ground-penetrating-radar-gpr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ground Penetrating Radar<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.earthsound.ie\/index.php\/electrical-resistivity-tomography-ert\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Electrical Resistivity Imaging<\/a>\u00a0and used <a href=\"http:\/\/www.earthsound.ie\/index.php\/magnetometry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Magnetometry<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.earthsound.ie\/index.php\/electromagnetic-induction-emi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Electromagnetic Induction<\/a> surveys at\u00a0Woodstock Castle.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Community Engagement:<\/strong>\u00a0We&#8217;ve given a number of lectures on our work in Athy at the Athy Heritage Centre Museum, we&#8217;ve been visited by local schools and\u00a0filmed for a short video that documented the surveys for the benefit of the local national school.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Outcomes:<\/strong> The 2013-2016\u00a0geophysical surveys have been used to aid the management of the Athy Town Walls and castles in a rapidly developing urban area.
